About Cleanskin Sheep Australia

Cleanskin Sheep Australia (CSA) has been developed by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA to:

Cleanskin Sheep Australia has a vision that the cleanskin sheep breeds will develop as the cattle industry has - where the only consideration is meat production. The first European settlers arrived in 1788 with 6 head of cattle, today there are around 25 million head comprising of approximately 50 different beef cattle breeds in Australia.

Currently Australia has around 10 recognized cleanskin sheep meat breeds. Clearly the industry is still in the pioneer stage but we envisage that in the near future the cleanskin breeds will be a predominant part of the sheep meat industry in this country.

The Cleanskin Sheep Australia secretariat office is located at the Adelaide Showground in South Australia.
